CLS September Recap

CLS+September+Recap

CLS Athletics and Activities are back in full swing this September after the school year has gotten off to a relatively normal start as pandemic protocols begin to fade. In case you haven’t gotten the chance to check out all that our students have been up to, here are some important things that have happened.

The CLS Football program has had some great success so far this year. And although winning games is great, one of their biggest successes was their support for Cal’s Angels at the Gold Out football game on September 9th. Students were sporting their Cal’s Angels shirts, which were sold during lunch periods and before the game by NHS members, in order to raise money for pediatric cancer.

The volleyball program has had its own share of successes, such as the Varsity team’s wins against Cary Grove and Hampshire, and so has the Boys’ Varsity Soccer team, which won their first FVC game on September 13th against Jacobs. If you’re interested in going to one of these games, check out the Gator Nation Instagram for upcoming dates, times, and themes.

Non-athletic extracurriculars have also started back up for the fall. The CLS theatre program is preparing for their performance of Sunday in the Park with George. Other clubs, including Key Club, Aevidum, Gator Buddies, Speech Team, and Model United Nations have also begun to hold meetings. If you’re not involved, don’t hesitate to reach out to the club sponsors (listed HERE).

Athletics and Activities at CLS make up the backbone of our school community and are a great way for students to build connections and make differences. Throughout the year, I’ll be highlighting important events and spotlighting different opportunities that CLS students have to get involved. Stay tuned!
