Random Acts of Kindness Day

Random Acts of Kindness Day

Katie Hall

February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day. In these times, it’s especially important to show empathy towards others and care for each other, even people we don’t know! Here are some ideas of things that you can do…

  • Send a positive or encouraging text message to a family member or friend
  • Pay for the person behind you in the drive thru
  • Leave sticky notes with positive messages in bathrooms or other location
  • Compliment at least 3 people during your day
  • Hold the door open for someone
  • Be a good listener
  • Leave a nice reply on someone’s post
  • Put a nice note in your mailbox for the mailman
  • Donate food to a food pantry
  • Help a family member out at home
  • Ask someone how their day is going
  • Send an email or write a letter of gratitude to a teacher
  • Learn something new about a teacher, classmate, or coworker

You never know how someone else is feeling or what they might be going through. Showing interest or appreciation has the ability to make their day! And although this day is a great reminder, you have 364 other chances to go out and spread kindness.
