LOUISVILLE, KY — A Louisville woman is facing felony charges after police say she tried to take an 8-year-old girl and then attempted to force her way into the child’s home in the Portland neighborhood. Court records say Charra Lewis, 42, was arrested Saturday, Aug. 1, after the child’s family flagged down Louisville Metro Police officers. Investigators charged Lewis with attempted kidnapping of a minor and attempted second-degree burglary. The girl told officers she ran to her house and locked the door after Lewis allegedly chased her.
